I did my first live online class last night! It was so fun and really great practice. And the coolest thing is that I also recorded the entire session so that I could share it with you here!
This class is a very slow, relaxing session of restorative yoga, where I offer lots of alternatives and modifications for poses so that everything is accessible to beginners of all body types, ages, and comfort levels. I wanted to start off with a very basic introduction, so I give lots of detailed directions and cues for each pose. For some of you more experienced yogis, this class might offer too much explanation and not enough of a challenge for your needs, but for anyone who is new to yoga or hasn't reached a level of familiarity or comfort just yet, this is the perfect way to get started. For this class, I do not ask you to do any inverted poses, extreme balancing, or backbends, and I refer to poses using common English terms, rather than the Sanskrit names, so the directions are clear and easy to understand.
The video is long; 80 minutes with only a short Savasana (the meditation at the end), but there are built in breaks and lots of time spent talking about each pose. I recommend you have a strap (or a belt, scarf, rope, etc.) and a pillow or foam block nearby if you think you might need modifications or supports. I will be using props to show you how to make each pose work for your body.
Please enjoy this video as many times as you like, and I hope to see you live online or in person someday soon as well. ~Namaste
